Snowshoeing & Cross-Country Skiing
Lake George Regional Park offers Groomed ski trails on the east side of the Park. The west side provides non groomed steeper trails perfect for breaking trail and exploring on Snowshoes. Many Skiers access the the east side trails from the Canaan Elementary School or from across the Lake Via the Snowmobile trails. Parking is available at boat launch on the east side and operations center on route 2.
Ice Fishing at the Park
Ice Fishing at Lake George is an activity that occurs 7 days a week and peaks with the Somerset SnowFest Ice Fishing Derby. Lake access can be found at the boat launch, east side beach and north end snowmobile trail. Snowmobile and ATV riders are asked to stay out of fields and other recreational areas to avoid hazards. (Parking areas are plowed within a day or two of each storm.)
