Summer Camps at Lake George Regional Park

Camp Podooc is a day-camp conducted on the WEST side of Lake George Regional park that runs in 2 distinct 2-week sessions for area youth, grades 1-6. Monday through Friday, 8:45-2:30.

Special Note: The format for session eligibility has changed and is no longer based on residency. For the purposes of improved programming, session eligibility is now determined by school grade (see below)

Campers experience swim lessons, outdoor field games, nature crafts, environmental education and more. Free lunch available.

2024 Camp Podooc Sessions

SESSION #1  (All Towns – Grades 1,2 and 3) July 8 – 19, 2024
SESSION #2  (All Towns – Grades 4, 5 and 6) July 22 – August 2, 2024

Parents provide transportation directly to Lake George (Drop off 8:45, pick up 2:30)

Cost:
Canaan resident – Free
Skowhegan resident – Price to be determined
Non-resident fee.- $215 per session
Athens- Determined by Town of Athens

Skowhegan Shuttle Bus Schedule

Morning pick up:

  • 7:15am at the Cornville Charter Elementary School, 48 South Factory St.
  • 7:25am at the Ice Cream Shoppe, 209 North Ave #2, Skowhegan

Afternoon drop off:

  • 2:45pm at the Ice Cream Shoppe, 209 North Avenue #2, Skowhegan
  • 2:55pm at the Cornville Charter Elementary School, 48 South Factory St.

Lake George Swim Camp

Thanks to a generation donations from the Quimby Family Foundation, Somerset Public Health, and New Balance Move More Kids Foundation, Lake George Park will offer a swim camp program in 2024! More information on the swim camp program and swim lessons coming soon.

Park Policy: Lake George Regional Park is a public park and will remain open to the public during camp hours. Only staff and campers are authorized to be part of camp activities during camp. If you are a park member or choose to pay the park fee, we ask that you follow park rules and keep a respectful distance from camp activities. In many cases the Park will encourage patrons to utilize the Park’s East side while camps are in session. Beach use and swimming on the West Side is not available to the public during camp hours. If you wish to swim at this time please use the East Side of the Park.
