Downhill Kayak Race

Are you ready to join us for some snowtastic fun? Grab your boat and join us on February 27th for our Downhill Yak Race! Last year was our first year for this event, and what a great time! We still aren’t sure if the competitors or the spectators had the better time? And you know what?…. this year’s race will be at night, during the full moon, the Snow Moon! Woo Hoo! While this year’s event will be different than in the past due to circumstances, we still look forward to a great time!

$20 per racer

Details:

All those who attend are required to: wear a facemask during the event, maintain 6’ from others, wear a helmet, sign waiver/hold harmless agreement and NEED TO PRE-REGISTER!

You will be required to provide your own equipment (boat and helmet).

We are only allowed 100 participants (with staff/volunteers/board members that turns into 90) Please Pre-Register so you can participate in the race. If you are not able to participate due to Covid Protocol which limits capacity for events, we are truly sorry and hope you join us next time!

For those interested in watching this great event, we will broadcast on Facebook Live for all to enjoy!

The race starts at 6:30PM. Please arrive approximately 15 minutes early for set up

Each participant will have 2 runs, best individual run time stands

Fastest time wins

Tie will result in a tie-breaker run

Last year we had regular whitewater kayaks, play boats and a whitewater canoe racer. These are all acceptable boats to race. If you have questions about an eligible boat, please contact email LGRP.ResourceManager@gmail.com
